Lawrence (Larry) Dodge III of the Waterville Public Library, will be doing a presentation on Pioneer and Businessman Asa Redington Titled: “Asa Redington: From Orphan to Community Builder.” The story of how an orphan helped win Independence, served George Washington, and helped shape a community.
Lawrence (Larry) Dodge III was born and raised in Waterville. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1988. He then attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA and graduated with a BA in History, 1996 and then a Master’s Degree in Education Instructional/Program Development in 2000. Larry had worked as a Historical Interpreter for the Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, MA for five years. After moving back to Waterville, Maine; He started working part time at the Waterville Public Library in 2013 and accepted the Full time position of Head of Patron Services in 2015. Larry has been a valuable asset of information and research to us here at the Historical Society and we are excited for him to share from his research into Asa Redington our museum’s namesake.
