DREAM Action: Voicing Challenges in Our Own Communities

Fri. Apr 13 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

- Free

How does one react to a recent deportation? Where can we go to seek support if we are unsure where to start? How can we have a healthy dialogue with someone around immigration in our current political climate? In our town of Waterville, ME, at the beginning of the year we faced a devastating story from a community member, Lexius Saint Martin, a Haitian immigrant who raised his family here but then later was detained in January 2018 and in March 2018 was deported back to Haiti. The Colby Museum of Art invites you to join them for an afternoon of storytelling around immigration where community members from all over Maine will speak alongside special guest, Mexican artist, Yoshua Okón.
