In collaboration with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players performance of HMS Pinafore, the Waterville Opera House has arranged for a special community acting workshop to be held the afternoon of Friday, October 6th prior to the evening’s show. David Wannen, the executive director of NYGASP, will be holding a free acting workshop — Auditioning for Musical Theatre — at Studio 93 in The Center (93 Main Street). In this free community workshop open to actors of all ages and abilities, attendees can learn how to improve their auditioning skills from a master of the audition. Whether you’re a high school student interested in a career in musical theater after graduation, or a community actor looking to hone her skills, this is an incredible opportunity to learn from a professional for free right here in Waterville. In the workshop, David will select eight to ten participants to work with on prepared music, so please bring sheet music you’re familiar with to the workshop.
